ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, May 30 (UPI) -- Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says it would be up to parliament to decide whether to impeach President Pervez Musharraf.

Speaking to reporters at a symposium in Islamabad, Gilani said any such decision must be taken by the partners in the ruling coalition strictly in accordance with the constitution and law, the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

He also said no one should doubt the coalition's determination to reinstate the judges dismissed last year during Musharraf's brief emergency rule.

Gilani said the delay in bringing back the judges was only due to some modalities which needed to be worked out. The judges' issue has threatened to break up the coalition because of differences between the main coalition partners.

Separately, Musharraf was quoted as saying recent reports about his differences with the army and his impending resignation are part of a malicious campaign to create unrest in the country, APP reported.

The reports began circulating after Musharraf met Wednesday with Army Chief Gen. Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani.

Musharraf said the reports caused heavy losses in the stock market and concerns in the business community, noting, "I believe in a policy of conciliation, rather than that of confrontation."
