Execution set for double murderer

ATLANTA, May 27 (UPI) -- A Georgia man convicted of a 1990 double murder is to be put to death on the evening of June 4 in what would be the state's second execution this year.

Curtis Osborn of Spalding County is to be executed at 7 p.m. June 4 by lethal injection by the Georgia Department of Corrections as punishment for fatally shooting Linda Lisa Seaborne and Arthur Jones as they sat in a car Aug. 7, 1990, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

Another death row inmate, Samuel David Crowe, had been set to be executed last week. But he was given a reprieve just a few hours before his scheduled lethal injection.

Crowe had already eaten his last meal -- steak from a nearby restaurant -- when he received word of his clemency and re-sentencing to life in prison without parole.
