KATHMANDU, Nepal, April 27 (UPI) -- Nepal's Madhesi Jana Adhikar Forum said it is prepared to cooperate with Maoists in creating a new government if they agree to give Madhesi concerns priority.
The forum, which became Nepal's fourth-largest party when it won 52 Constituent Assembly seats, said it could potentially begin a revolt if Madhesi concerns are ignored, Nepalnews.com reported.
"The MJF has been raising Madhesi issues since (the) past and they include formation of autonomous Madhes province and priority of Madhesi people in administration and governance," MJF coordinator Upendra Yadav said.
He added that the Asian country was going through intricacies prompted by the interim constitution and requested that Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala make changes to it to clear the path for the next government.
Speakers at the 20th World Hindu Federation in northern India said the interim government could be working against the Hindu religion, Nepalnews.com said.
"The interim government declaring Hindu Kingdom of Nepal a secular country is a deliberate attempt to destroy our religion and culture," President of World Hindu Council Ashok Singhal said.
