Girl's mouth allegedly taped shut in class

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla., April 26 (UPI) -- A probe was under way at a Florida school into accusations a first-grade student was strapped in a chair with her mouth taped shut, a TV station reported.

The classroom incident allegedly took place Friday at Seven Oaks Elementary School in Wesley Chapel, MyFOXTampaBay.com reported Saturday.

Two school employees were removed from the room afterward but it wasn't clear whether they were teachers, the station reported. Assistant Pasco County School Superintendent Renalia DuBose said police were conducting interviews at the school.

It also wasn't clear why the student was restrained in such a manner, but one unnamed parent told MyFOXTampaBay.com: "It's something we do not do at home. It's not something that should be done at school."
