Wife: Omar bin Laden wants British visa

PARIS, April 15 (UPI) -- Osama bin Laden's son expects that his application for a British visa will be rejected, his British wife said Tuesday.

Zaina al-Sabah bin Laden, in an interview in Paris, told GMTV that she and her husband, Omar bin Laden, will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights if they have to.

"We applied before Christmas and we don't know if we have been refused," she said. "It has taken this long and there's no definite answer and no real refusal. We think 99 percent that it is going to be a refusal though there has been no official letter."

Zaina bin Laden, a several times married grandmother, and Omar married last year after meeting at the Pyramids in Egypt. The former Jane Felix-Browne said she and her husband would like to live in her old home in Moulton in Cheshire.

Omar bin Laden, one of Osama's 19 children by four wives, has said that he left Afghanistan in 2000 and has not seen his father since. He has both criticized his father for taking innocent lives and defended him as someone who believes he is doing the right thing.
