Drew Peterson's son faces sanctions

OAK BROOK, Ill., April 5 (UPI) -- An Illinois police officer could be disciplined for wearing his uniform to testify before the grand jury investigating the deaths of his father's wives.

Stephen Peterson, a member of the Oak Brook Police Department, has a hearing next week, the Chicago Tribune reported. His father, former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson, is a suspect in the death of his third wife, and the disappearance and presumed death of his fourth.

Police Chief Thomas Sheahan confirmed to the newspaper the hearing involves Stephen Peterson driving his police car to the Will County Courthouse annex in December.

"He was under subpoena going to a grand jury inquest, and he was on duty," said Drew Peterson. "He took his squad car with his boss's knowledge, and now he's going for disciplinary action. How ridiculous is that?"
