Peterson's exes talk to grand jury

JOLIET, Ill., April 4 (UPI) -- The second wife of a former Illinois police officer suspected of killing his third and fourth wives and his former fiancee have testified before a grand jury.

Neither Vicki Connolly nor Kyle Piry would discuss their grand jury testimony with reporters, the Joliet Herald-News reported. Connolly was married to Drew Peterson of Bolingbrook for 10 years, while Piry was engaged to him for four months in the 1980s.

"Hopefully I'm done with all that stuff," Piry said. "I didn't think I was all that relevant."

Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy, disappeared last October. The death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004 was recently reclassified as a homicide.

Both Connolly and Piry have described Peterson as controlling. Connolly told the Chicago Tribune last year that he threatened that he could kill her and pass it off as an accident.

Piry said that after she ended the relationship Peterson would pull her over and give her traffic tickets. Peterson claims he dumped her.

Joel Brodsky, Peterson's lawyer, said neither woman has anything relevant to say.

"They're an ex-wife and a jilted girlfriend," Brodsky said. "What do you expect them to say? We're not concerned in the least."
