INDIANAPOLIS, March 30 (UPI) -- An Indiana man has died after police used a stun gun to subdue him in connection with an incident at an Indianapolis restaurant.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers had used a Taser gun and CS gas, which is similar to tear gas, to subdue Bryant, said spokesman Sgt. Paul Thompson.

Officers responded to the restaurant to investigate a report of a man with a gun. Police said they determined the mad had a firearms permit, the newspaper reported.

However, the man reportedly started fighting with officers, who used a Taser on him and arrested him for public intoxication.

An Amnesty International report said worldwide there were 150 deaths from stun gun devices from mid-2001 through early 2006.
