Arrest made in Canada road-rage death

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 14 (UPI) -- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced an arrest Friday after a pickup truck bore down on three men and killed one of them in southern British Columbia.

RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr told a news conference in Langley an unidentified suspect was arrested and released in connection with the incident early Thursday, the Canwest News Agency reported.

Silas O'Brien, 21, was killed near Aldergrove, southeast of Vancouver, when the driver of a pick-up truck forced a truck carrying O'Brien and two friends off the road as they were traveling to Vancouver for a vacation flight to Hawaii.

The men were uninjured but after they got out of their truck, the other truck turned around and accelerated toward them. O'Brien's friends jumped out of the way but he was hit, investigators said.

Carr said the suspect's Ford F-250 was seized and was undergoing forensic examination.

Canwest said police confirmed road rage was involved in the double attack on the truck O'Brien was in.
