Lebanon postpones elections for 16th time

BEIRUT, Lebanon, March 10 (UPI) -- Lebanon's presidential election was delayed Monday for the 16th time over power-sharing disputes between the ruling parties and Hezbollah, an official said.

Nabih Berri, the speaker of parliament, made the announcement through his spokesman saying the election will be rescheduled for March 25, Press TV reported.

The term of former President Emile Lahoud expired Nov. 23. There has been no president in Lebanon since then.

Some analysts say the political crisis in Lebanon is approaching the severity of the country's 1975-90 civil war.
