YANGON, Myanmar, March 8 (UPI) -- Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi Saturday left her house in Yangon to meet with a special United Nations envoy, the BBC reported.
Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest, was seen leaving for the state guest house where U.N. Envoy Ibrahim Gambari is staying.
Gambari, who is in the country formally called Burma to mediate a conflict between the military government and opposition, had previously met with members of the National League for Democracy.
Suu Kyi was awarded the President Medal of Freedom from then-U.S. President Bill Clinton in 2000.
