Terror suspects arrested in Pakistan

LAHORE , Pakistan, March 7 (UPI) -- Pakistani police in the city of Lahore said they have arrested three men accused of planning suicide attacks on behalf of an illegal militant group.

Officers said they found 110 pounds of explosives, four jackets filled with explosives, four bundles of orange fuse cable, multiple electric and non-electric detonators, orange-coated fuses and two bottles of an explosive chemical in the possession of Abdul Majid, Qamar Saleem, Gujranwala Shahzad and Nadeem Shahzad at the time of their arrest, the Dawn reported Friday.

The newspaper said the suspects allegedly confessed to planning suicide attacks at locations in Lahore and bombings targeting government officials.

Police said the man also admitted to being members of a banned militant group, but the group was not named.
