Sri Lankan police seize military equipment

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, March 6 (UPI) -- Sri Lankan officials seized a supply of high-tech devices while it was being taken to rebels in a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam-held area.

Police apprehended three people, a three-wheeler and the equipment at a checkpoint near the Karapikkada crossing in Medawachchiya, the Colombo Page reported Thursday.

The confiscated items reportedly included eight pairs of binoculars (three of which were digital), Blue Tooth cables, AC/DC power cords, ten earphones, two IDF Torch Mag-Lites, 48 batteries, 63 hand set shoulder straps and five data and video cables for digital binoculars.
