Stainback's body was initially identified as that of Frederick McWherter Jr., 41, and buried by the McWherter family at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

The McWherters realized a horrible mistake had been made when McWherter called his wife to report that he had checked himself into a rehab center, the News-Democrat reported.

Stainback's mother, Kathleen Beecher-Miller, says when she saw her son two days before he was killed, he told her someone wanted to kill him.

She said she believes drugs were involved.

Police say they're doing everything they can to find the killer.
