NEW YORK, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- An exotic dancer and another woman have led New York police to a man who allegedly posed as a cab driver to rape women.
The alleged serial rapist chose targets from patrons of The Box, an exclusive nightclub, the New York Daily News reported.
The case was cracked early Sunday when a dancer at Scores was sexually assaulted after she got into a Lincoln Town Car she thought was a livery cab.
She fought off her attacker and recorded the car's license plate.
About an hour later, the same driver raped another woman in Manhattan, who also later reported the plate number, which was not a livery-cab license plate, sources said.
Investigators picked up the suspect, and said he admitted to sexually assaulting the Scores dancer, late Sunday. He denied raping the other woman, said police.
The man also confessed to abducting, robbing and raping two other women who had just left The Box on separate occasions in September and October 2007.
