Princess Di was obsessed with astrology

LONDON, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Britain's Princess Diana was in the habit of consulting "reflexologists, astrologists and soothsayers" before her 1997 death, her private secretary said.

Testifying at a London inquest Thursday, Patrick Jepson said the outlandish predictions the advisers gave Diana only fed her sense of paranoia, The Times of London reported Friday.

"They robbed her of her equilibrium at times of distress," Jepson told an inquest looking into the Paris car crash which killed Diana and boyfriend Dodi Fayed.

Jepson said the princess was obsessed with astrology and consulted a clairvoyant she described as "Fergie's witch woman," to enhance her personal development.

The former Navy commander told the court he thought Diana's interest in alternative disciplines was harmful to her.

Also testifying at the inquest was Trevor Rees, the only survivor of the Paris car crash.

He said he had been uncomfortable with the way Dodi Fayed's father had pressured him to remember events that may or may not have taken place.
