SKOPJE, Macedonia, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A Macedonian military helicopter crashed and burned Saturday, killing all 11 people on board.
The Mi-17 aircraft was returning from a peacekeeping mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina when it went down about noon near Skopje, Macedonia, Focus Information Agency reported. Firefighters extinguished the flames within minutes but the fuselage was charred, the Bulgarian news agency said.
The cause of the crash had not been determined.
Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska went to the crash site. The Macedonian government was to meet in an emergency session to discuss the matter.
