ALEXANDRIA, Egypt, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- The death toll from a building collapse near Alexandria, Egypt, has risen to eight with three people injured.
Rescuers pulled Yasmine Mohammed Abdelaal, 24, from the rubble Tuesday and she was taken to a hospital for treatment, KUNA, the Kuwaiti news agency, reported Tuesday.
Three additional bodies were found in the wreckage of the 12-story building Tuesday.
Preliminary reports suggest the collapse may have been caused in part by insufficient amounts of iron and cement in the building's reinforced concrete.
Egyptian Prosecutor General Justice Abdul-Majid Mahmoud ordered the arrests of the building's owner, the contractor who built it and an engineer. A technical panel has convened to lead the investigation into the causes of the collapse.
