GALVESTON, Texas, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Investigators in the case of Baby Grace, a young girl whose body was found in Texas, have asked for DNA tests to be conducted to possibly learn her identity.
By comparing Baby Grace's DNA with that of eight missing children with similar physical descriptions, investigators hope to finally learn the true identity of the body, which was found inside a plastic box in Galveston on Oct. 29, the Houston Chronicle said Thursday.
The eight missing children chosen to take part in the DNA testing were picked from 110 missing children cases nationwide and included among the few was a case from Spring, Texas.
Yet investigators said the inclusion of the regional case did not represent any additional weight regarding that ongoing investigation.
"The possibility is just as strong as any of the other 110 cases," Galveston County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo told the Chronicle. "We are doing this because we are leaving no stone unturned."
