CONCORD, N.H., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Mitt Romney are the favorites for their parties' presidential nominations in New Hampshire, a poll showed.
The Boston Globe said Sunday that its recent poll found that while Clinton, who represents New York in the Senate, and Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, are currently clear favorites in the New Hampshire presidential primary, their sizable leads could dwindle in the future.
The poll's results suggested voters are not convinced Romney is the best candidate in regard to fighting terrorism, as only 12 percent of respondents tabbed him as the best Republican for such duties.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani garnered 29 percent of the votes in that category, while Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., topped all other Republicans with 31 percent.
That discrepancy could threaten Romney's 12 percent lead on Giuliani and 15 percent edge on McCain.
The poll's results also suggested Clinton's 14 percent lead on Sen. Barrack Obama, D-Ill., could be jeopardized by how "trustworthy" voters see her.
Only 19 percent of the Globe's poll respondents said Clinton was the most "trustworthy" Democratic candidate, compared to the 26 percent who gave Obama that designation.
