PARIS, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A new book published in France says a Nazi war criminal thought to be at liberty was actually hunted down and killed by a Jewish death squad in 1982.
The book, titled in English "No forgetting, No forgiving," quotes a Mr. Baz who says his group known as "The Owl" was responsible for killing Aribert Heim along with several Nazis who sought refuge in the United States, the newspaper Expatica reported Monday.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center has said it doubts Baz's claim.
In recent years, there have been reports of Heim sightings in Costa Brava and the Costa del Sol.
Baz, who says he joined The Owl to avenge family members killed in the Holocaust, thinks the time has come to call of the hunt for Heim.
Heim's bank account in Germany continues to accumulate pension payments because he has never been officially declared dead.
