Clients of missing boat crew found

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Authorities searching for four missing crew members of a Miami Beach charter boat have found the boat's two customers drifting in the Florida Straits.

Kirby Logan Archer, a fugitive suspected of stealing $92,600 from a Wal-Mart at which he once worked, and Guillermo Zarabozo were found floating on a life raft 12 miles from where the Joe Cool, a 47-foot sport fishing yacht, was discovered abandoned, the Miami Herald reported Tuesday.

The Coast Guard said it is not yet clear why the two clients abandoned the vessel or what became of the Joe Cool's four crew members. The two men are being questioned by investigators.

Authorities are still searching for Capt. Jake Branam, his wife Kelley Branam, his half-brother Scott Campbell and Samuel Kairy.

Jeff Branam, uncle of Jake Branam, said he believes the crew members may have been forced overboard or killed.

"I think that Kirby Archer pirated our boat," Branam said. "Now, the best-case scenario is if they gave my nephew and the others onboard life jackets and told them to swim for it."
