LAS VEGAS, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- O.J. Simpson says no guns were involved, but he "possibly" threatened sports memorabilia collectors in a Las Vegas hotel room, CNN reported Saturday.
Simpson is under investigation, but not in custody, for an alleged armed robbery Thursday at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino.
Simpson told CNN he and two friends went to the hotel room to claim personal items he said belonged to him. Simpson said he traded harsh words with the sellers, "possibly" threats, he said, but no one was hurt.
"I just wanted to get my stuff back," Simpson told CNN.
Bruce Fromong, one of the alleged victims, told police the men with Simpson pointed guns while Simpson yelled at "That's mine, that's mine, that's mine." Fromong described it as "a home invasion-type robbery."
Fromong testified for Simpson in a wrongful death trial stemming from a lawsuit filed by relatives of Ron Goldman, who was killed in 1994 with Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson was acquitted of the killings in 1995, but the jury in the 1997 civil trial found him liable and awarded the Goldmans $33.5 million.
