STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Ewa Bjorling was presented last week by Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt as the new minister of trade for Sweden, a report said.
The Local reported Wednesday that Reinfeldt began his fellow Moderate Party member's tenure by detailing any potential damaging secrets she may have. The prime minister explained how the parliamentary member, who has a noted love of cars, was caught speeding during the summer.
Reinfeldt also detailed how Bjorling was once fined for illegally dumping mounds of dirt during the construction of her house. Finally, the prime minister revealed Bjorling used black market services, although he would not detail what particular services were involved.
Reinfeldt's openness regarding such indiscretions comes after three Swedish ministers were pushed to resign during the last year.
For her part, Bjorling explained how she was at first hesitant to take on such a public role.
"I am happy and proud to have been asked. But it was important to give it good consideration before answering as it means a further step out and into the public sphere and I do have a family to think of," she said last Thursday.
