NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- New Jersey prosecutors are seeking to try three juveniles as adults in the execution-style slayings of three people at a Newark schoolyard.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office filed court papers Friday that are the first step in moving the case from the juvenile justice system to adult court.

The three youths, two age 15 and one 16, are among the six suspects charged in the Aug. 4 shooting that left three college students dead and a fourth wounded.

The (Newark) Star-Ledger said a hearing on the motion will be scheduled at a later date.
