YouTube to pull German hate videos

BERLIN, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- YouTube said it won’t be used any longer as a propaganda vehicle for German neo-Nazis.

The popular social Web site pulled clips posted on the site showing far-right propaganda following complaints from Jewish groups and German politicians.

Deutsche-Welle reported Friday that Google, which owns YouTube, said the number of videos that will be removed numbers in the hundreds. The company added that YouTube has rules against videos that incite racial hatred.

Legal analysts questioned the permanency of the move since YouTube is based in the United States, which has stronger laws protecting freedom of speech regardless of its offensive nature.
