LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- “Boyz n the Hood” director John Singleton struck and killed a pedestrian in Los Angeles with his car, but will not face charges, police said.
Singleton hit Constance Russell, 57, when she suddenly stepped in front of his Lexus sports utility vehicle around 8 p.m. Thursday. He stopped immediately and waited for emergency responders to arrive, TMZ.com reported.
Russell was taken to a hospital, where she died Friday morning.
Singleton was not speeding, and had not been drinking or using drugs, police said. They have concluded their investigation, which found the crash as an accident.
