HARRIS, Texas, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- The Harris County, Texas, teen who is facing four felony murder charges will be kept in jail while he awaits trial.
A judge decided that 15-year-old Bobby Davis will stay in jail while he awaits trial on felony murder charges in the deaths of four Baytown teens, who were killed when a stolen Jeep, allegedly driven by Davis, crashed into a train, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday.
Davis’s family was visibly upset after being told that he would remain jailed for at least eight to 10 days.
"Somebody is making an example of my grandson, and that is not fair," said Pauline Davis, his grandmother.
Davis was critically injured in the crash on June 14 that killed his younger brother, 14-year-old Austin Davis, and three young girls, Loral Moyers, 12; Macy Moyers, 14; and Colette Windham, 14.
Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will have Davis certified to face the charges as an adult.
