LONDON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- British organizers of a Hell’s Angels motorcycle show say they are stunned by the killing of a member shot to death as he left the Bulldog Bash bike festival.
“This is murder, plain and simple, and we have got no idea why this has happened,” a Bulldog Bash organizer identified only as Bilbo told The Times of London.
The biker was killed Sunday, and another rider shot in the leg, as they rode away from the festival on the M40 motorway near Stratford-upon-Avon, police said. They were shot at from a passing car, said police, who reported the dead biker was in his 30s and lived in the United Kingdom but was not believed to be British.
The Bulldog Bash, which draws motorcycle riders from all over the world, is advertised by the Hell’s Angels as the safest bike show of the year, The Times reported. Organizers denied the shooting was linked to gang rivalry or infighting.
