Belgium's King Albert has hip surgery

BRUSSELS, June 28 (UPI) -- Belgian King Albert II is hospitalized and said to be in excellent condition after undergoing hip replacement surgery.

The operation was performed Tuesday evening after the king broke his leg in a fall at his home outside Brussels.

The 73-year-old king is expected to start walking again this weekend, Expatica said Thursday.
