Holgado, claimed Peron was father, dies

BUENOS AIRES, June 9 (UPI) -- Martha Holgado, who claimed to have been the daughter of late Argentine President Juan Peron has died at 73, La Nacion newspaper reported Saturday.

Holgado died following an illness that had not been made public.

She had spent more than a decade trying to prove she was the offspring of the former president and a married woman during the 1930s.

However, DNA tests showed that Holgado was not the couple's daughter.
