6 hurt in Disney World ride mishap

ORLANDO, Fla., May 29 (UPI) -- A family of five and a Walt Disney World employee were hurt Tuesday while the tourists were being evacuated from a water ride at the Florida park.

Bo Jones, deputy fire chief of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, told the Orlando Sentinel the Kali River Ride at Animal Kingdom, which simulates a rain forest raft trip, was being emptied of passengers after a sensor failure brought it to a halt. The six people were on an evacuation platform that dropped suddenly.
