COOKSTOWN, N.J., May 12 (UPI) -- The father of a New Jersey man charged in an alleged terrorism plot fears he could lose his business as customers shun his Cookstown, N.J., pizzeria.
Muslim Tatar told The New York Times he has put up signs saying "Under New Management," in hopes his place will no longer be connected to the six suspects arrested for allegedly plotting an attack on nearby Fort Dix.
"Everybody loved me," Tatar told the newspaper. ""Now I am bad person?"
The native of Turkey said he had also lost his head cook, who has a son in the Army, and who quit shortly after Serdar Tatar and five friends were arrested in the high-profile case. There has also been a steady stream of death threats and taunts from passing motorists.
Tatar said business at the restaurant, which is frequented by Fort Dix troops, is "99 percent dead."
