LAGOS, Portugal, May 7 (UPI) -- Portugese police searching for a kidnapped British toddler released a sketch showing the rear of a suspect's head.
The Times of London reported the suspect, described as balding and about 5-foot-11, was reportedly seen dragging a small blond girl to a marina in the city of Lagos, about 5 miles from where Madeleine McCann disappeared Thursday night.
The child was abducted from her family's rented holiday apartment as her parents ate in a nearby restaurant. British law enforcement officials were helping with the search, as were many residents and tourists.
The Times reported police planned to cut back their search in the village of Praia da Luz and expand it elsewhere in the Algarve region.
The child's parents have appealed for her safe return.
"Obviously as the days go by it gets harder, because you start by hoping for the best and then begin to start fearing for the worst," Madeline's great-uncle, Bryan Kennedy, told the Times.
