Britain's queen to make quiet visit

WASHINGTON, May 2 (UPI) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is set to arrive in the United States to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown in Virginia.

It will be the queen's fifth official visit to the United States, USA Today said.

Her five-day visit beginning Thursday is expected to be low key. It will include a private lunch and state dinner at the White House and visits to Williamsburg, Va., and the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Ky.

Plans also call for visits to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., a children's hospital and the World War II Memorial in Washington.

The queen's first visit to the United States as queen was in 1957 for the 350th anniversary of Jamestown.
