Ex-Russian press minister faces judge

NOVOSIBIRSK, Russia, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Former Rusian Press Minister Boris Mironov appeared before a judge Tuesday to plead innocent to charges of instigating ethnic violence in Siberia.

Mironov, who was fired from his high-level post in 1994, was arrested in Moscow last month on charges stemming from his alleged use of anti-Semitic rhetoric during his 2003 campaign for regional governor.
