Robertson: Major U.S. terror attack coming

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- In his annual disclosure of messages from God, U.S. religious broadcaster Pat Robertson of Virginia is predicting massive terror attacks on the United States.

On his "The 700 Club" television show, which he hosts from the Christian Broadcasting Network in Virginia Beach, Va., Robertson said God told him the attacks would come in the second half of 2007, but he did not say where, the Virginia-Pilot reported.

"The Lord didn't say nuclear, but I do believe it'll be something like that -- that'll be a mass killing, possibly millions of people, major cities injured," Robertson said. "The evil people will come after this country, and there's a possibility -- not a possibility, a definite certainty -- that chaos is going to rule."

The broadcaster's track record is spotty, considering last May he said God told him in 2006 "the coasts of America will be lashed" by "vicious hurricanes." No hurricanes struck the U.S. coast in 2006, and just three tropical storms made landfall.

In January 2004, Robertson predicted a "blow-out" re-election for President George Bush, who went on to defeat challenger Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., with just 51 percent of the vote.
