PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Three Czech parliamentary parties have agreed to form a center-right coalition government, six months after general elections ended in a deadlock.
However, it still remains open when Czech President Vaclav Klaus would name a new government, Radio Prague reported Friday.
The coalition of the Civic Democrats led by Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, Christian Democrats and Greens is lacking one vote for a majority in the 200-seat Chamber of Deputies, meaning they need support from at least one leftist deputy to win a parliamentary vote of confidence, the radio said.
The Czech republic has been without a stable government since elections in June when leftist and rights parties won 100 seats each in the parliament's lower chamber.
Early in October, Topolanek's rightist minority government failed to win a confidence vote. Klaus approved Topolanek's resignation but the prime minister and his government ministers have kept their posts until a new Cabinet is formed.
