GEORGETOWN, Texas, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A potentially deadly plot against a high school outside of Austin, Texas, was broken up this week by sheriff's deputies acting on a tip.
Williamson County, Texas, sheriff's spokesman Detective John Foster said Monday the attack on McNeil High School in Georgetown, north of Austin, was being planned by two teenage boys younger than 17.
He said a tip Thursday from a school administrator led to the quick arrests of the two youths on charges of conspiracy to commit capital murder. Foster said because of laws governing juveniles, he could offer no further information, the Austin American-Statesman reported Tuesday.
Foster said the boys were being held at the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center in Georgetown, and that if they had carried out their attack, "it would have been deadly to the occupants -- students and faculty."
