JERUSALEM, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Israeli Justice Minister Haim Ramon, facing a charge of committing an indecent act, resigned his government post Friday.
Ramon asked for an immediate trial. He was accused by a young woman who once worked for him of trying to kiss her without her consent, ynet.news reported.

Attorney General Menachem Mazuz told Ramon that he had decided to take him to trial. Ramon rejected a hearing before a final decision on the matter.
Ramon said he felt certain he could prove that the brief kiss could not have turned into a criminal ac, ynet.news said.
