Message to terrorists: 'You can't hide'

WASHINGTON, June 8 (UPI) -- U.S. President Bush learned of the raid against terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in a meeting where Rep. Ray LaHood suggested getting Zarqawi would be good.

At a White House press briefing Thursday, spokesman Tony Snow described the meeting between Bush and a bi-partisan group of congressmen recently returned from Iraq.

Zarqawi was killed Wednesday by a U.S. airstrike near Baquba. It came as the Iraqi government finalized its cabinet.

LaHood told FoxNews that during the meeting he said to the president: "It would be a good idea to get Zarqawi," and Bush said, "I'm with you."

During the exchange, National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley kept popping in and out of the room and exchanging nods with Bush, LaHood, R-Ill., said.

"We've been crushing the opposition but the opposition control the air waves with scattered acts of violence," Snow said. The death of Zarqawi, however, will deliver a message to terrorists: "You can't hide."
