Poll: Tories lead Labor by six points

LONDON, May 26 (UPI) -- British Conservatives are experiencing a rebound as voters increasingly perceive Tony Blair's government as a "floundering regime," it was reported.

The Tories have the biggest advantage over Labor since John Major won in the general election in 1992, a YouGov poll showed.

YouGov is the most recent opinion poll showing the Tories with a clear lead -- from four to eight points ahead of Labor.

Conservatives gained five points since April, the Telegraph reported.

Only 26 percent of voters are satisfied with Blair's performance -- his lowest rating yet in a monthly poll. When voters were asked who would be the better prime minister, David Cameron -- leader of the Conservative party -- is only one point behind Blair.

Labor has been badly damaged recently by the financial crisis in the National Health Service and disorganization in the Home Office.

Conservatives are regaining public confidence for management of the economy as well.
