MADRID, May 11 (UPI) -- Spain has released a suspected member of the terror group that executed the 2004 Madrid train bombing that killed 191 people, El Mundo reported Thursday.

The Spanish court freed Saed El Harrak after he served two years behind bars, the maximum a suspect can serve in Spain without trial. The court reportedly did not apply for an extension of his term in jail.

The March 11, 2004, bombings were blamed on a terror group with ties to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terror network.
