Black Panthers hold small rally at Duke

DURHAM, N.C., May 1 (UPI) -- Members of the New Black Panther Party held a small demonstration outside the entrance to Duke University in North Carolina on Monday.

Police barred the group from entering the campus. Some students came out to watch but the protestors and students were outnumbered by members of the media, the Raleigh News & Sentinel reported.

The group had a list of demands including the conviction of two members of the Duke lacrosse team charged with sexually assaulting a dancer hired for a team party. After the demonstration at Duke, the Panthers marched to the team house where the party took place.
