Mexico: Bus plunges off cliff, 63 dead

MEXICO CITY, April 17 (UPI) -- At least 63 people were killed Monday when a bus full of Mexican tourists plunged nearly 800 feet off a cliff, Mexican news agency Notimex reported.

The bus slid off a road in eastern Mexico between the eastern city of Veracruz and the capital, Mexico City.

Officials at the scene said the bus was filled way beyond capacity. While regulated to hold 46 people, there were 71 people on board.

The passengers were members of a religious organization known as Light of the World.
