SAO PAULO, April 17 (UPI) -- Approval for Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has remained consistent, said pollsters in a recent survey.
The Datafolha polling agency reported that 37 percent of Brazilians think da Silva is doing a good job, down only 1 percentage point since March.
The agency interviewed 3,801 Brazilians from April 6-8 and the survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percent, Folha de Sao Paulo reported.
Lula, as the president is commonly known, is currently besieged by a nearly year-long corruption scandal in which his ruling Workers' Party was accused of paying lawmakers for their support in congressional votes for key reforms.
The president, however, has not been implicated in the alleged vote buying. Lula is up for reelection in October of this year and leads all candidates in the polling.
