Boat capsizes, 120 feared drowned

ACCRA, Ghana, April 10 (UPI) -- At least 120 passengers on a packed boat are feared to have drowned when the vessel capsized on Lake Volta in Ghana.

The incident occurred Saturday but only 30 people have been rescued out of about 150 on the boat, reports the BBC. It quoted local reports saying that the people on the boat were being deported from a forest reserve where they had settled illegally.

The boat was licensed to carry only 70 passengers, officials said.
