ROSEVILLE, Minn., March 22 (UPI) -- Roseville, Minn., police are investigating claims that a 15-year-old student was forced to perform sex on tape and then blackmailed to perform more sex acts.
After a year of abuse she allegedly reported the incidents to a school counselor March 7, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The police investigation may take weeks and school officials are looking into what they may be able to do as far as punishment.
Since the assault didn't take place on school grounds, their hands may be tied.
The Roseville school district recently settled a lawsuit in which a girl alleged officials knew about sexual abuse but didn't do anything to stop it.
The house of the 16-year-old boy accused of the recent sex blackmail was searched March 13.
Police said videotapes, a computer and a camera were taken, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
