Suit filed in body-snatching case

NEW YORK, March 17 (UPI) -- A lawsuit was to be filed in New York against the alleged leaders of a body-snatching ring and several funeral homes for allegedly supplying the corpses.

The class action suit is being brought by more than 120 relatives of the victims, reports the New York Daily News.

"This is the civil prong of this tragedy in which each and every victim who has had a loved one's body mined without consent can now have their day in court," attorney Sanford Rubenstein told the newspaper.

Several lawsuits around the country have already been brought on behalf of transplant recipients who may have been exposed to disease because of the illicit body-parts ring, the report said.
