MOSCOW, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- The death toll from the roof collapse at a Moscow market grew to 60 Friday with the death of a 21-year-old man who had been hospitalized for his injuries.
Emergency services workers told Russia's Interfax news agency 59 bodies had been pulled from the rubble of the Basmanny marketplace. More than two dozen other people were injured.
Meanwhile, Moscow Prosecutor Anatoly Zuyev said the director of the market was arrested on negligence charges, the Russian information agency Novosti reported.
Initial reports blamed the collapse Thursday on the weight of snow on the roof.
